Cable Raceways
Frequently Asked Questions β Cable Raceways
Will cable raceways hide all types of cables?
Most common household cables fit standard raceways: HDMI, ethernet, phone chargers, lamp cords, and AV cables. A 1.5″ wide raceway holds 2β4 standard cables comfortably. For more or thicker cables, choose a 2″ or wider raceway. Very thick cables like HVAC power leads may require a commercial-grade raceway.
How do I cut cable raceways to length?
Cut PVC raceways with a fine-tooth hacksaw, miter box, or sharp scissors. Mark the cut, then cut the base and cover separately for a cleaner result. Deburr the cut end with fine sandpaper. Corner connectors and end caps cover joins and cut ends for a professional finish.
Can cable raceways be painted to match my wall?
Yes. PVC raceways accept standard latex and acrylic wall paint. Lightly sand the surface, apply plastic primer, then top-coat with your wall colour. The result is nearly invisible. White raceways on white walls are already unobtrusive without painting.
How do self-adhesive cable raceways stay on the wall?
Self-adhesive raceways use pressure-sensitive acrylic backing. Clean the surface with a dry cloth, peel the backing, press firmly for 10β15 seconds, and allow 30β60 minutes before loading cables. They bond best to smooth, flat surfaces. For textured or rough walls, use screw-mount raceways.
