Floor Cord Covers
Frequently Asked Questions β Floor Cord Covers
Are floor cord covers safe for all floor types?
TIESELX floor cord covers have a non-slip base suitable for hard floors (wood, tile, laminate, vinyl) and low-pile carpet. On high-pile carpet, the edges may not lie completely flat β in these cases use cable staples or clip the cover edges down with carpet tape. Do not use cord covers on wet floors or in high-moisture environments without checking the specific product IP rating.
How many cables fit in a floor cord cover?
Standard floor cord covers hold 2β3 cables depending on cable diameter. Heavy-duty cord covers may accommodate larger cables or more cables. The channel dimensions are listed in each product’s specifications. For very large cable runs (4+ cables), use two parallel covers side by side.
Can floor cord covers be cut to length?
Yes. PVC floor cord covers can be cut with a sharp utility knife or fine-tooth hacksaw. Score across the channel at the correct length, then cut through in a clean straight line. Deburr the cut end with fine sandpaper for a safe, professional finish.
What is the difference between a floor cord cover and a cable raceway?
A floor cord cover lies flat on the floor across a walkway β its purpose is protecting cables from foot traffic and eliminating trip hazards. A cable raceway mounts to a wall or baseboard to route cables along a horizontal run. They serve different purposes and are often used together β the raceway routes cables along the wall, the floor cover crosses the room at the point where cables must cross the floor.
