Is flexible non-metallic conduit the same as flexible metallic conduit (FMC)?
No. Flexible non-metallic conduit (FNMC) is made from PVC plastic with no metal components. It is lighter, corrosion-proof, and lower cost than flexible metallic conduit (FMC) or liquidtight flexible metallic conduit (LFMC). However, FMC provides an additional grounding path through the metal jacket, which FNMC does not.
