What type of cable sleeve is easiest to install?
Split braided cable sleeves are the easiest to install because the self-closing design snaps shut around cables without needing to thread cables through from one end. Simply lay cables in the open sleeve and release — it closes automatically. Spiral wrap is similarly easy as it can be applied to cables in-situ without disconnecting anything.

Can cable sleeves protect against pet chewing?
Spiral wrap and flexible PVC split tubing provide some chewing resistance, but determined dogs and cats will eventually chew through any cable sleeve. For true pet bite protection, use rigid plastic split loom tubing or our dedicated cord protectors for pets which are significantly thicker and more resistant to chewing.

How do I cut braided cable sleeves to length?
Use sharp scissors and apply a small piece of tape over the cut point before cutting to prevent fraying. Alternatively, a heat gun or lighter briefly applied to the cut end will melt the braided fibres and seal the end permanently. Work quickly and at a safe distance from the heat source.

Will a cable sleeve fit over the connector end of a cable?
Split braided sleeves and spiral wrap can be applied over the cable without removing connectors — no threading required. Standard braided sleeves without a split require threading from the cable end, which means removing the connector or choosing the sleeve at cable installation time.
